Subject: World music in Hull From: GUEST Date: 11 Aug 05 - 05:43 PM Is there anyone playing any world music type stuff in and around Hull at sessions at the moment, for example Eastern styles? I know there is a Polish fiddler around, as Capt Swing told me. This stuff sounds interesting, I get bored with English/Irish music sometimes. |
Subject: RE: World music in Hull From: GUEST Date: 11 Aug 05 - 07:19 PM Hmm...no-one replied to my post. Sorry, I just posted this in the hope it will go to the top of the list and therefore make people more likely to reply to it.. |
Subject: RE: World music in Hull From: GUEST,Proud Kurdish refugee Date: 11 Aug 05 - 08:39 PM What World music? there isnt any to play it. there is even one Kurdish man who claim to be "internationaly knowen musicion" and he is not he is a copy cat. and knows nothing about music. and any world music shet in Hull he will be on the stage. we really dont like him because he is rubish and yet English people have tried to tell me that he is very good! it seems that English people knows Kurdish music better then a Kurdish man! so dont look for it because there isnt any to play it. |
Subject: RE: World music in Hull From: GUEST Date: 11 Aug 05 - 08:42 PM Well I will play it then. I have a passion for this music. What do you think of that, an English woman playing your music? Would your people be pleased with that. |
Subject: RE: World music in Hull From: GUEST,Proud Kurdish refugee Date: 11 Aug 05 - 08:45 PM They would love to see that if she gets it right. as we hardly got any Kurdish female musicions. |
Subject: RE: World music in Hull From: GUEST Date: 11 Aug 05 - 08:57 PM Getting it right would take a lot of practise. But then all music does. I think I know which musician you are talking about, yes I have heard that the Kurds don't think much to him at all, just English people who don't know any better. Shame there aren't more Kurdish musicians in Hull then, good ones. I would love to jam with them. |
