Subject: ISAMBARDE @ Herga Mon 15 August (UK) From: George Papavgeris Date: 13 Aug 05 - 08:07 AM This Monday Herga is showcasing ISAMBARDE, one of the most exciting young trios to hit the British folk scene for many a year (THE most exciting one, in my book). Chris, Emily and Jude, with a collective age below that of some of the stalwarts, hail from the Midlands and this is the furthest south they will have ventured to date. Their unique sound owes as much to their innovative arrangements of traditional songs and tunes as to their unusual instrumentation (have you ever heard Hard Times In Old England on oboe? Well you should hear it on THIS oboe with Jude clambering all over it!). ISMABARDE will be performing an extended set to finish our singers & musicians evening. Starts at 8pm. Venue: The Grimsdyke Room, Harrow Arts Centre, Uxbridge Rd, Hatch End, Middlesex HA5 4EA. I will personally refund the (measly) entrance fee to anyone who comes and fails to enjoy them! |
