For reason too messy to be bothered explaining, I would like to be away from home on sat 27th August.    Can anyone suggest a good session to attend.

Must be within reach of Sheffield by Public transport

Preferably in a major town as I would need to book hostel accomodation for that night.

Session should be mixed and happy to welcome lone, unaccompanied traditional singer.

Now tell me this isn't too much to ask.   I quite fancy York or Newcastle but open to suggestions.

If you don't find any session, you could of course go to the folk concert in Bakewell :-)

You won't get to sing, but I am sure you will enjoy being in Bakewell. Quite a bit going on during the Saturday at Bakewell.
