Subject: Tune Req: Gloria Hardiman search

Years ago (pre-digital) I had a recording of "Summertime" performed by Gloria Hardiman. Her haunting rendition of this classic still stirs me up inside when I think of it though the recording is long lost. I have been looking online for a digital recording of this song but can't even find reference to it.

Help anyone?

No luck here either, Space Cat. (BTW - loved your books when I was a kid)

In fact the song I find most frequently mentioned for Gloria is "meet me with your black pants on"

That's the same tune I find most frequently.

The recording was part of a bootleg compilation tape that I bought when I lived overseas in the late 80's. It was probably assembled in Singapore since a lot of the bootleg tapes were made there back then. But all of the recordings were good ones and mostly well known. Whoever made the compilation had a good ear for a mix that worked well. Sure wish I could find that tape. Over the years I have asked many people about that recording of Summertime that Gloria did and have never found someone who is familiar with it. That's why I was hoping someone here might have run across it and hopefully help direct me to where I could get a copy of it. Please ask around; if you find someone else who has heard it let me know because I'll know at least one other person knows what it sounds like.

Thanks,
Space Cat.
