There is a new music/poetry forum called WHAP! (a Weekly Happening with Audience Participation) in Frederick, Maryland. WHAP! features 15-20 minute sets scheduled in advance by local artist Shortbread. There are usuall 6-8 acts per show. Every act performing a complete set receives a share of the tipo money. Performers also get feedback from the audience (the 'audience participation' part of it ) via comment cards. WHAP! happens at three venues in Frederick on different days: Sunday evenings 7-9 at the Friends Meetinghouse (723 N. Market Street), Monday evenings 6:30-8:30 at Jennifer's Restaurant (207 W.
