Subject: Lyr Req: Children of the wind - scouting From: diesel Date: 26 Aug 05 - 07:35 PM Hi A tune and some lyrics that are in the back of my head but I can't find anywhere come from a scouting Jamboree held in Ireland I guess late 1970's early 80's. Wondering would any Mudcatters recognise it and know the rest of the lyrics. First two lines that I remember are ; 'Hey Ho away we go travelling along Children of the wind my friend rambling on ' Any help appreciated..even corrections....! Diesel |
Subject: RE: Lyr Req: Children of the wind - scouting From: Jim Dixon Date: 02 Sep 05 - 12:58 AM I was able to find 2 songs called CHILDREN OF THE WIND. One of them was written by David Clayton-Thomas and recorded by Blood, Sweat & Tears. It's on their album "What Goes Up: The Best of Blood, Sweat & Tears," 1995. Another was written by Stephen Schwartz (words) and Charles Strouse (music) for the musical play "Rags." It has been recorded by Judi Connelli and Suzanne Johnston; Marie Michuda; and Ann Arvia. I just listened to some samples. Neither of them sounds like the kind of song kids would like to sing. |
