I have the last few lines of a song and am looking for the rest of it.
Any help???

Here is what I have:

You dance and you dream you delight in the music, there were so many others but you've chosen me.
Grace, I am a dancer afraid of the music, I'm only a dreamer afraid of his dreams.
You dance and you dream you delight in the music, there were so many others but you've chosen me.
There were so many others, Grace, you've chosen me.

Didn't find anything. Date, genre, performer, etc?

Several years ago (1985 - 1990 time frame?), sort of a folksy ballad, 3/4 time, haunting melody, one or two guitars and two voices - male singing melody female on harmony, I believe.   I believe I got it off the air from a "River City Folk" program, but Tom May has no recalection of it. Had just enough time to get a tape in the tape deck and catch just the last few lines. Every once in a while I run across the tape and try again to find something about it. It may have been a live performance - no recording.

Thanks for any help you can come up with

Wil

Oops. Wrong time frame. Should be 1993 - 2000 with '95 to '98 most likely.

allmusic lists 293 recordings of various songs called GRACE—which seems like the most likely title of your song, since Googling with any other phrase from your lyrics turns up nothing.

You might try listening to sound samples until you hear something you recognize. I listened to all the ones that were labeled "folk," but none were duets, or had any lyrics that seemed to match what you quoted. Allmusic's genre labels are not very reliable, though; for instance, it seems that everything gets the default classification "rock" if they don't know what it is.

I think I've located it! Sent Tom May ("River City Folk") the small segment of tape I had. He didn't know the song, but identified the artists - Neal & Leandra. Contacting them I found it was on their first recording "Rocky Road" from 1988, of which they had a few cassettes left. I've got one on order.

If anyone's interested they have a web site - Google Neal & Leandra - and several CDs, but none have "Grace" on them.
