The other day I received a package in the mail from Jim Stewart in Rothsay New Brunswick. It is a cd Titled "Kendall's Reel" and along with it the sheet music. I wish I knew how to enter it so all could see it.

This man has written some very beautiful music, including the story of the MARCO POLO, a 19th century clipper ship reputed to be the fastest in the world.

Their engines and boilers will soon rule the day
And the time will arrive that time will forget us

I'm honored beyond words.

The Marco Polo was built here in Saint John ... when initially launched it keeled over, giving the perception to all that this boat was somewhat of a joke, a falure ... little did they know.

Kendall, that is wonderful!!

If you can take a picture of it or scan it in, then send it to Jeff, he could put it up. Or, send it to me and I can put it up on my photo page at Yahoo, the sheet music, that is.

Is there a place online where one may buy the CD which might have a sound example fo the title track? I didn't see any on his website: click here.

Jim has asked Kendall for permission to include this track on his next CD.

Jeff has quite a backlog to deal with Kat - if you pm Kendall your email addy he can scan and send to you.

I've got the piece in My Music on the pc but haven't been able to work out how to forward it - neither of my email accounts will let me send it.

Read the post again. This reel was written by an outstanding musician to honor a highly respected performer who has lost his voice. No one has said or implied that it is traditional. What is your problem?

Are you in St John then Number6? I notice you are a guest at the mo so I guess there is some reason you cannot sign in and pick up your mail? It's all in the software. I have to juggle computers: old one has no functional modem, new one has no notation software, so it's back and forth with a CD. Or maybe use the memory card in my camera. I'll have it later tonight.
