I googled and found ten times as many hits with 'Shelley'. But if 'most people' can't spell her name that would make 'Shelly' the correct version, wouldn't it?

I at least make a point to reread both of their works every so often. There was also a very good Mark Steel programme about her.

My fault, fellers. I'm sure the 'e' belongs in there. And it goes in her husband's name, too. Although Mary Wollestonecraft was a feminist, it was her mum, Mary Wollstonecraft, (dying a few days after Mary Wollstonecraft's birth) that was the noted & famous feminist and who wrote two noted and famous books of social interest. Mary Wollstonecraft wrote (far as I can tell) one book - to which I refer in the Happy! - plus a number of rehashes of her husband's stuff. Not to minimize, Mary Wollstonecraft's one book had considerable social comentary but is not generally read for that purpose.

Sorrey for the confusion and I hope I've cleared things up now.

Her mum was a firebrand, she, less so. Frankenstein, however, is one of the greatest books of all times. It manages to include all the ideas of her age in a popular format.
