Subject: RE: New Club, S E Cornwall From: GUEST,The Barden of England at work Date: 06 Sep 05 - 04:38 AM Hi Bo - Just got back from Fylde Festival and saw this. Place sounds great, and I hope it goes well. I'll certainly try and get down there as soon as I get a bit of free time. See you at Tenterden? John Barden |
Subject: RE: New Club, S E Cornwall From: Bo Date: 06 Sep 05 - 02:05 AM Thanks for all the best wishes (and the "clicky") We will try to remain as "open" as possible and mix it with story telling, poetry, bluegrass and jazz when the appropriate artists present themselves. There is no intention to conflict with any existing club in the capture area, we just want to provide a good evening for the "punters", the more the merrier. Meanwhile, a local session has moved....The Cheesewring on the 1st thursday each month has moved to The Stag in St Cleer. Regards, Bo |

Subject: RE: New Club, S E Cornwall From: Rockhen Date: 05 Sep 05 - 05:05 AM Ta for that. Is it a very traditional folk club or do you have other acoustic type music? |
Subject: RE: New Club, S E Cornwall From: CannieShieldsLaddie Date: 05 Sep 05 - 04:32 AM Bodmin Folk Club meets every Friday in the Garland Ox a short drive from Wadebridge |
Subject: RE: New Club, S E Cornwall From: Rockhen Date: 05 Sep 05 - 04:19 AM Ditto. (No, I'm not following you, Villan!) We tried to find live music events in Cornwall area when we were on holiday in May with no success. Is there anywhere in the Wadebridge area in North Cornwall, too, that holds acoustic nights and suchlike? We always miss the festival there when it is on, but hoped to catch a local club somewhere. |

Subject: New Club, S E Cornwall From: Bo Date: 05 Sep 05 - 02:36 AM We are pleased to be able to tell you about a new club to be meeting in South East Cornwall, 2 Thursdays each month. Details are at www.foxfolk.co.uk Any support will be welcome in the first few weeks as the "regulars" are the backbone of any club. We hope to welcome all forms of "acoustic" performance and provide a broad spectrum of guests. (prospective guests take note: Barden of England and Synbyn perhaps?) Guests so far confirmed: Gordon Giltrap, Paul Downes and Vikki Clayton. Looking forward to seeing as many "catters" as possible. I know you are there! |
