I am wondering if anyone has any information regarding a group from around the 70s, called "JF Murphy and Salt"? They were a celtic rock, blue grass type band who were awesome, but no one I talk to remembers them. They had an album that I know of, but not sure if they were successful. I am pretty sure they were from Ireland.
Anybody hear of them?

I have one of their albums, and am trying to locate it on cassette or CD. Have you found any additional information? The band, minus Jack Murphy, is now called Free Flowing Salt from what I understand.

Here's a website for the group as they exist today...

http://www.freeflowingsalt.com/

The site says they've found a new bass player, and will move forward. He has mighty big shoes to fill.

John Reilly, the drummer on The Last Illusion and Urban Renewal albums, talks a lot about his time in the band in this interview: http://www.musicandartinterviews.com/2019/04/john-oreilly.html

I recall seeing a live performance of this band
broadcast on public television years ago.
And I vaguely recall pipes --
don't know if they were uillean or otherwise.
