Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday - Amos From: Amos Date: 12 Sep 05 - 12:04 PM I love Mick, but I have never thought of him as a seal...although there is a certain streamlined similarity in profiles... hmmm... this gives new dimensions to the notion of the Great Silkie returned to land as a folkie. "I am a folkie on the land, I am a Silkie on the sea...and when the leaves fall from the trees, my home it is the Geddawee.....". LOL! A |
Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday - Amos From: Little Hawk Date: 12 Sep 05 - 12:16 PM Way to go, Amos! We love you (well, most of us do...and those who don't...what can you do such as they?) Shatner wants a rematch. Just thought I'd tell you that. He says he really won last time anyway (in the Steel Cage Match), so he's offering it out of his own generosity. I hope you appreciate that, I really do. Shane says, "Flip ME! The guy is so flippin' OLD, man! He is WAY over the flippin' hill, eh?" Yeah? What does he know, eh? He's in the slammer again. Chongo says, "Make it a good one, buddy. Have a banana dacquiri on me, and chase it with a good whisky on the rocks. Don't let the dames turn your head around, and keep your gat well oiled and ready for action." |

Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday - Amos From: Amos Date: 12 Sep 05 - 02:09 PM Ya know, Jacqui, I was gonna get very nervous about these hints but the thought of the Skipper inspires me to remain brave in the face of great temptation!! LOL But I dunno -- you gals start talking about rolling them Globes and I begin to remember the old Star Trek adage: "Resistance is futile....". Sigh. Thank you all so very much. Wodda wild and motley crew this place has!! Ya jes' gotta love it. I realize that having raised my daughter (nearly complete) my next twenty years are going to be wide open, so take warning, all ye fair lasses... LOL!! Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday - Amos From: John MacKenzie Date: 12 Sep 05 - 02:23 PM It's the candles you're supposed to blow Amos!! G.. |
Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday - Amos From: Amos Date: 12 Sep 05 - 02:29 PM Well, candles have lots of uses you know. I once knew a lovely Moroccan housewife who was very pregant, her first, IIRC; and she kept a couple in her bedside table to nibble on because it seemed to fill a need, like pickles and ice cream is reputed to do for some gals during pregnancy. One of the all time great inventions, the candle. A |

Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday - Amos From: Rapparee Date: 12 Sep 05 - 03:22 PM I'd wish him happy birthday but he didn't bake me a cake. Or even invite me. We could have played pin the tail on the donkey and drunk Kool-Aid and went on a scavenger hunt and eaten ice cream and cake 'til we puked, but I wasn't even invited. So in a fit of depression I spent a day and a half in the environs of DC. Let that be a lesson to ya. Oh, hell, Happy Birthday. Welcome to the club. |

Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday - Amos From: Amos Date: 12 Sep 05 - 03:52 PM Wisely? WISELY?? A kiss from the Galactic Redhead is NOT something that fits in the same breath as wisely -- it knocks the wisdom outta yer head faster than a kick from a Tennessee mule on moonshine, I betcha! Nevertheless, I will treasure them is spite of being wholly unequipped to use as instructed! :D Y'all get back here more often GG! A (MM -- I tried to get her to come and she said she was too shy....this from a Goddess who does Bellydancing!! Does that beat all or whut??). A |
Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday - Amos From: MMario Date: 12 Sep 05 - 03:54 PM We can give her a false nametag! No one would know who she was... I am crestfallen. |

Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday - Amos From: GUEST,William Shatner Date: 12 Sep 05 - 04:23 PM I had a number of things to do today. I'm a busy man. Most of them were, relatively speaking, just a tad more important than posting on this forum. Just a tad! :-) But, hey, I'm a generous guy. I've had a lot of experience over the years with what it means to be...human. I know how much it means to some people just to get a little recognition, a little confirmation that they are not alone in a huge unfeeling universe, and that someone out there cares. So...it is with at least a moderate level of enthusiasm that I take a couple of minutes out from my busy day here, Amos, to say.... Happy Birthday!!! You lucky sod. I could just have ignored it entirely. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy... You are now only 365 days away from the next chance to have this happen. Cross your fingers, buddy, and hope for the best! - William Shatner p.s. I won that Steel Cage match. You lost. Live with it. |
Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday - Amos From: Amos Date: 12 Sep 05 - 04:25 PM I don't think so, rughead. Read the thread. It is clear who trounced whom, and you were the whom. A |

Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday - Amos From: Raedwulf Date: 12 Sep 05 - 04:43 PM Blimey! Do fossils still get birthdays? I thought they just got carbon-dated (no, that's not the name of a nice girl, Amos), which I've heard is painful (OK, so now you're *sure* she's a nice girl, Amos...). So many happy returns of Miss Carbon, Amos! ;-) R |

Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday - Amos From: GUEST Date: 12 Sep 05 - 04:57 PM Up yours, Welford! Not unless your damn lucky, it don't. |
Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday - Amos From: Amos Date: 12 Sep 05 - 04:57 PM Make friends with Little Hawk, agree with everything he writes, defend him against cynics, and you too can have the Ultimate Reward -- birthday wishes from an over-sized hasbeen with a dead hamster on his head...hey, man, GO for it!!! LOL! A |
Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday - Amos From: Raedwulf Date: 12 Sep 05 - 05:21 PM I prefer to argue with Little Hawk - it makes more sense... And so does he!! ;-) |
Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday - Amos From: Little Hawk Date: 12 Sep 05 - 06:39 PM Your failure to fully appreciate the fine qualities of William Shatner is possibly the only really serious flaw in what is otherwise a sterling character, Amos. It's a shame, really. You fall just short of perfection. Most people are quite unaware that William Shatner completely revolutionized the whole concept of acting way back in the 1950's when he did a series of brilliant roles in the movies and on TV, such as his appearance on Twilight Zone. It wasn't Brando who changed the movies forever, it was Shatner. Brando was a mere flicker of the blinding light that Shatner shone upon the world of film art. I can easily say that had Shatner been alive in 1914, and been in charge of the Allied forces, World War One would have ended 2 years sooner! Millions of lives could have been saved. How? He would have sung to the troops, that's how. He would have led them by example to go where no man had gone before! He would have inspired feats of arms that even Alexander could never match. I kid you not. Damn shame he was born too late, isn't it? |
Subject: RE: BS: Happy Birthday - Amos From: MOAB Date: 12 Sep 05 - 07:37 PM Happy birthday, Amos dear. There's a card with a check for $10.00 in the mail. Sorry it's going to be late but I never can keep you children's birthdays straight. Love, Your Mom |
