UK 'catters. Ampthill Acoustic Club is closed. We wish to offer our thanks to those who have visited, the landlords at The Queens Head and White Hart for hosting us over the years and to all the artists who have produced superb performances and earned every pound our small club was able to pay.

The club closed last night after hosting Redbornstoke Morris. Redbornstoke delighted us with a collection of new and old songs, tunes and tales. [yes, they sang for us, rather than dancing!].

The folk tradition in Ampthill goes back over 30 years. It started at the White Hart and that is where this chapter ends. Who shall write the next chapter?

Our website will be updated soon.

Very, very sad. But I hope this will be a brief interlude only, and that the club will rise again. All the best to Mike and all others that helped with the organisation.

My sympathies - having had to run around yesterday to find a new venue for Gainsborough Folk Club to meet in tomorrow night, I empathise completely.

Sorry to hear the club has closed. A bit far for me to visit regularly but I enjoyed the times I made it there.

Thanks to all who helped keep it running while it did.

Christine

Has the club managed to restart? I noticed the permathread was still open but there has been no info since this thread all those years ago... I'll put a note on the permathread link if no one responds.
