Subject: Ampthill Acoustic Club is closed From: mrTibbs Date: 14 Sep 05 - 05:00 PM UK 'catters. Ampthill Acoustic Club is closed. We wish to offer our thanks to those who have visited, the landlords at The Queens Head and White Hart for hosting us over the years and to all the artists who have produced superb performances and earned every pound our small club was able to pay. The club closed last night after hosting Redbornstoke Morris. Redbornstoke delighted us with a collection of new and old songs, tunes and tales. [yes, they sang for us, rather than dancing!]. The folk tradition in Ampthill goes back over 30 years. It started at the White Hart and that is where this chapter ends. Who shall write the next chapter? Our website will be updated soon. |
