Subject: New Scorpion Band Northern Gigs From: Blowzabella Date: 21 Sep 05 - 01:47 PM Forgive me for putting up these details in a separate thread, but they come up north so rarely that people might not look at the usual one... Anyway, I am delighted that the New Scorpion Band have several northern dates coming up in November. The details are as follows: 16th Nov Driffield Town Theatre 01377 256389 17th Nov Longcroft School Theatre, Beverley 01482 862171 18th Nov North Newbald Village Hall 01430 827679 23rd Nov Brigsteer Village Hall (nr Kendal) 015395 68252 24th November Threlkeld Public Rooms (near Keswick) 017687 79172 25th November Cliburn Village Hall (near Shap) 01931 714218 26th November Cotherstone Village Hall (near Barnard Castle) 07732 571416 27th November Heads Nook Village Hall (near Carlisle) 01228 361147 They all, I think, start at 7.30pm. I don't have details of ticket prices, but as they are all promoted by Rural Touring Forums, they will be very reasonable. Hope that some of you might be able to get along - I'm hoping I might be able to get to a few myself! Details of full dates for rest of year will be posted in the permathread, but hope you will forgive me flagging these few up. Blowz |

Subject: RE: New Scorpion Band Northern Gigs From: Blowzabella Date: 21 Sep 05 - 06:40 PM Apologies, Mac - I really mean as north as they have got so far, I suppose. Didn't mean to cause confusion, just that most of their gigs tend to be darn sarf.... |

Subject: RE: New Scorpion Band Northern Gigs From: Blowzabella Date: 01 Oct 05 - 07:06 AM How refreshing! For those who may not know - NSB are: Tim Laycock, Robin Jeffrey (who also plays with Burning Bush), Brian Gulland (ex Gryphon), Sharon Lindo (Broadside, Band, and lots of other early music ensembles) and Robert White - who has done loads and loads of stuff, including being the Pipe Major in Sharpe and has played on tons of film scores, including Lord of the Rings, Shipping News, Gangs of New York etc Between them they play about 30-odd different instruments - all acoustic and perform music fom C15th to C20th! |
