Subject: Copyright for Traditional Blues Music

Hi. i love Blues because of its simplicity and power of emotion. i like to write lyrics and it is difficult to do so for Blues without sounding phoney. i have 2 that i am pleased with, one goes well with the music of Son House's ' Levee Camp Blues' and the other with Muddy Water's 'Little Girl'. I am unlikely to ever get a publishing deal, and would not want to steal another man's music, but i wondered if the old traditional blues music (not lyrics) has copyright, e.g. 'House of the Rising Sun'?
