I'm planning to go to Maghull this year, the line up features a few of my favourites, but I've never been before.
Is anyone else going? What's it like?

Oh and I have no idea about accommodation anyone suggest some?

Cheers in advance!!

muppitz x

I'm going but like you i've never been before so would also welcome any idea of what it's like. As for accommodation I only live about 20 miles away so have no idea.

Hi Muppitz, Firstly have you got your tickets? they nearly always sell out in advance. Try the Maghull Folk Club website for ticket info.
I am going on Fri night as well to see Jez Lowe & The Bad Pennies £4. As for accomodation I don't know of anywhere near, but there maybe some, otherwise try Southport (& come to the Bothy Folk Club on Sun night), or Liverpool. Smooth Hound is a good source of info.
The event starts at 1pm & runs until 11-30pm. There is a concert room upstairs and another room used for evening concerts downstairs, & a small room downstairs is used for the rolling folk club (singaround).
If you want to stay upstairs all day then you must guard your seat with your life! if not then you have 3 events to move between. There is a tea break where hot food can be brought in from outside but only to be eaten in the rolling folk club room! (Theres a chippie 100yds away), sarnies can be eaten anywhere. There is hot food available upstairs but last wear it was disgusting. As you say a great line up,
TANGLEFOOT Mrs ACKROYD BAND   MALINKY
The SPIKEDRIVERS   COLUM SANDS   MARIE LITTLE   FLOSSIE
BILL WHALEY & DAVE FLETCHER
TONY GIBBONS & KATE BRADBURY, and very good value for money.
I hope this is helpfull, maybe see you there.
Cheers
Les
