Does anyone have the Lyrics and chords to The Gypsy,I can't find it anywhere on the internet. This is what I know it was written by Lita Roza but she didn't record it.Dorothy Squires recorded it in the 1950s and made a big hit out of it.Here are some of the words.
In a quaint caravan there's a lady they call the Gypsy,
she can look in the future and drive away all your fears.
Everything will come right if you'll only believe the Gypsy,
she could tell at a glance that my heart was so full of tears.

She looked in my hand and told me,
that my lover was always true,
but deep in my heart I knew dear,
that someone else was a kissing you.

I'll go there again for I want to believe the Gypsy,
She says your lover is true and will come back to you some day

Here's what I have. NOTE: the C(7) chord would not be a C7 chord, rather a C chord with the B note (B string open).

          C          C(7)             Gm7         A7       D7
In a quaint caravan there's a lady they call the Gypsy,
            Dm7            G7            Dm7          G7          C    Dm7 G7
she can look in the future and drive away all your fears.
          C                      C(7)             Gm7       A7          D7
Everything will come right if you'll only believe the Gypsy,
             Dm7          G7                Dm7             G7       C
she could tell at a glance that my heart was so full of tears.

       Dm7               G7          B7   C
She looked in my hand and told me,
             Dm7            G7    C
that my lover was always true,
       Em               B7       Em
but deep in my heart I knew dear,
                      Dm7                      G7
that someone else was a kissing you …..

LR - The version I have is a wonderful recording by the Inkspots from probably the mid to late '40s. I don't have the CDs with me at the moment, but if you need that info, let me know.
