SO I guess, what we need to do is say nice things about whoever wins the cup, unless none of our teams wins the cup. In that case we say nice things about the last team in that one of us was rooting for. I's confusing but a fun bet!

Legace stunk but the tying goal was kicked in after being hit with a high stick by Horcoff in front of the net. The officiating was horrendous thru most of the series but.... The Oilers deserved to win. The Wings didn't deserve to be on the same ice as Edmonton. Zetterberg, Lang and Yserman were the only guys that showed up for the series. Now.... back to baseball. Go Tigers!

Boy.... am I disappointed!!! Legace has really stunk the place up with all his drama, lying there like he's dead after a goal. It's very uncool to show up your teammates like that. He'd best be on his game tonight. The whole team seems passionless too.I can't imagine what's going on. Hopefully, the real Wings will show up tonight. Whether the Cup belongs in Detroit this year depends on their playoff goldtending. So far Roloson has been tha man and Legace hasn't. Manny is going to have to step up his game A LOT. For the Red Wings to be a contender.

Well, Beer, it's now "sudden death" to the end of this series. You're right - the guys haven't played worth a damn this whole series, and, I don't think they deserve to win it, but - this is the
playoffs and they are a great road team, so who knows. About today, though, it seemed as though they couldn't buy a goal for two periods.
Finally - the Stars came out and played a good game last night and I'll write this - if they come back from being down three to zero
they will go all the way to the cup, which, by the way, belongs in HOCKEYTOWN - GO RED WINGS!!!

Thanks for the congrats Beer, of course since 1999, we've been consistantly been disappointed. We ain't countin our chickens. Congrats to Devils fans. The Rangers had a lot of bad luck this year. The next series probably won't be as easy.

Can the Habs beat Carolina? Probably not, so it looks like NJ vs the Canes and Ottawa taking on the winner of Buffalo-Philly.

Congratulations you Ottawa fans you deserve to move on. As for the Red Wings, they played as if they shouldn't had even made the play offs. Man what is wrong with them? In fact the whole series so far even the games they've won they stink. The goalie is playing worst than Osgood would. The only spark on the whole goddamn team is Steve Yezeman and he is out. Now that I've vented I feel just a little bit better.

Sure, I'm happy - the WINGS squared it up at two apiece so it's now down to a three-game series. Folks over in Dallas are not so happy though - being down to Colorado by three games. Both teams have a heated rivaly with the WINGS so I'll just sit back and hope for an exciting game tonight; but tomorrow it's - GO WINGS!!!

I think Bobad is on to something there. The last two games Ottawa has really gelled as a team. Emery played flawlessly last night. No goalie could have stopped the two that went in an he made some great saves. Ottawa showed some much overdue grit on tuesday and if they keep that same fire, they are going to be very tough to beat.

Ottawa matches up very well against this new Jersey team. The Devils sure won't outscore Ottawa 16-2 in three games.

You know, I really have been focusing on underdogs this year-- Hawks, Pens, even our nearest UHL team (Elmira Jackals). So it is not an understatement to say that I am really enjoying top-level play. In fact, I am assembling a list of things ONLY the really good teams do, and ALL of which a team MUST be able to do in order to win the Cup. Things I haven;t ever seen done in hockey, that these teams CAN do. I'll post it when it;s all over-- and we can chat it up then, and it will help with the withdrawal.


In the meantime-- how many of you had a heads-up that the OT idea would be totally different in the playoffs? A whole full-length intermission followed by one or more extra 20-minute periods of sudden death. I have not heard either OLN or NBC "experts" on this point.... boy do I miss my regular commentators! What else do we need to know about rule differences?
