It has taken Smithsonian an endless amount of time to re-release its Dillard Chandler material -- a new CD called Dark Hollers has just come out, with most of his stuff on it, plus a few other people -- at least they have had the good sense to put John Cohen's masterful little film on Dillard (The End of an Old Song) as part of the package.   A stark, painful, beautiful film.
