This thread is as old as the hills as "BUT" I can't help having a say !!
Kevin Johnson is in my opinion the best singer songwriter Australia has ever produced and I put him up with the likes of Kriss Kristofferson and Gordon Lightfoot as an absolute legend, his hits certainly number more than 2 but for some reason unless you were there at the time you don't seem to realise what an immense tallent he is.

Thanks for his site, Bruce. I've always liked him, but didn't realise he was still doing stuff. I especially like "Kedron Brook" and "Over the Hills and Far Away", but I've never been able to find the lyrics - I gather there are copyright issues.

I have a fair slab of Over the hills... in my head, but a lot of the second part is missing. Maybe someone can add to what I remember.

Throwin' stones at the Embassy, policeman come and arrested me,
Paper at the University, said I was a hero.
The wise old judge that I went before, wouldn't believe what I did it for,
Said this is no way to stop the war, but how the hell would he know?

Singin' songs of disillusion, ban the bomb and beat(?) pollution,

He also did a credible version of 'The Band Played Waltzing Matilda'. For a guy who had two reasonable-sized hits he kinda disappeared didn't he?

Does anyone know where Kevin is now. He had a great record out some years back called Rock'n'Roll I gave you all the best years of my life. Great singer. Thanks
