That's a great batch of photos!

I don't know if it could even be done at this point, and I know it would be kind of a chore, but it would be a boon and a blessing to us folks stuck on the other side of the country to know who and / or what we are looking at. I recognize a couple of faces from having seen their pictures before (such as Jacqui and Kendall, and I think I recognized Bobert, but I'm not sure), but I have the feeling that I know a lot of these folks from meeting them on Mudcat threads. It would be nice to be able to put a face to a name.

Like Don, I too only recognised a few faces (mostly the UK Catters) but am sure I've met many on the Cat, would love names if it were at all possible.

I should have been more clear, maybe I forgot to say it! There are comment boxes under the photographs, so Catters can ID folks in the photos and comment, for example if they remember the song being sung or so, Flickr is an interactive site. So HAVE FUN FOLKIES!!!

Hiya Kiddies... Don and Ebbie ... I started putting some comments on the Mudcat Gathering Photos on the Mudcat Flickr site... so I invite others to post comments when you see a photo with no name on it, click on the photo, add a comment, then folks will know who is who and you can leave as many words thereafter as possible... like photo of Greg... Skipjack, you can post a comment under the photo saying, Greg - Skipjack, loved the singing, good backup band, that sort of thing...

I gather that joining is free. I know that it is easy, although I already use Yahoo as an email provider so that I already had a membership of sorts. I was a little concerned that my Yahoo identity would automatically attach itself to Flickr but no- a window pops up to let you choose the moniker you want to use.

Ebbie... I am so glad you answered the questions about non-members posting, that had just occured to me late last night, and I am happy that folks can. Kev McGrath sent me a memebrship and I have been really loving it, it is the "pro" membership that allows one to post photos and such, and join groups. It is without a doupt the easiest way to attach photos to people's blogs etc.
Well, I hope... I will have time to put up more photos today

Can't figure out how to get to El Greko's pictures.

There is almost too much flexibility and connectivity in this Flickr site, you could wander for hours and not get quite where you thought you were going.

On the other hand it was an unexpected benefit to end up looking at old photos added by McGrath of Harlow, of black people in South Carolina and Virginia being taught to read, back when it was criminal to do so. Wow.

Great. I knew someone would pick up the ball and run with it. A Mudcat group at flickr is the next logical stage in our inexorable progress towards world domination... And it gives somewhere else to go to when the Cat is down where wqe are going to run into some mates (or tangle with some habitual adversaries for that matter...)
