Well, despite the way we behaved last time we are welcome back at the Ship ("Let's go to the Ship") on Sat 19th Nov. Same bat-time, same bat-arrangements.

Sally explains that the reason she stayed upstairs until about 11 was that she has two hours "sleep" after her dinner. Ho HO. Was it Alfie (the film) that had the line?????

Arrangements:

Pub song-session, all welcome. 8 (ish) till late (ish).

So far only those stated on this thread above plus Big Growly Simon and John (with sub-titles from the Scottish) are pretty well known to be coming so others please indicate. Woodsie and Kenneth Ingham are no doubt as likely as usual to intend to come nad then not to arrive, so we shall see what we shall see.

We will (if I twist your arms) leave the pub (and the Speckled Hen) by 1 am. All those too pissed to drive welcome to stop the night at my house next door. Bed booking starts now but Tone Def Leopard, if present, have suite 1 (on bad back grounds) unless Jeff claims it on even worse back grounds. I have 5 bedrooms, some sofas, some inflatable beds and camp beds and mattresses etc(which I can put on the drawing room, dining room, laundry room, and landing and conservatory floors), a caravan, a summerhouse, and the attic in the garage. I have room for a campervan on the drive and can provide electric hookup if you have a lead that will run from a normal 13 amp socket in the garage.

Guests arriving early run the risk of maybe a spagh bol for supper. Those who stop are required to eat my vegetable chilli stew if still present by 2 pm the following day. In-house curfew will also be applied, I'm fed up with getting to bed at 4 or later (sometimes much later). This time it really, really will, I'm going to put an alarm clock on the mantelpiece to remind me!

Don't bring your pets to stay with you unless you want to lose them. Bonnie the Small Dane is about 10 stone and crotchetty with animals (and her breath kills at 20 paces), and Benjamin the Border cross is usually very cross, with animals, although last time he trained Paddy to play with him in about 30 seconds flat. Pet birds get eaten by Schitz (pronounced Skitz, short for schizophrenic) the cat.

Boys are also welcome to stay if they so wish. If they are feeling adventurous there is the caravan, or a tent can be pitched in the garden - might give them a larf. Boys in tents can fry their own bacon to avoid problems with forrigen food!

What is a food faddie? What are his fads? I do not pander to fads. Sorry, but contrary to my upbringing. At my schools boys who did not eat their dinners were beaten. Umbrage taken (on the rocks with extra ice). Can you send him to the chinese takeaway over the road or the shop next to it that will do pizza toasts (I think)? There is a kebab and fish'n'chip shop about a mile or two up the road near to Allhallows, where civilisation has not been discovered yet. If you mean a foodie, I am sorry but I don't say "fuck" enough to be a TVchef nor so I have the culinary talent. Y chromosome, etc.

He gets what he gets (if I cook it). It might be a bol, or it might be a curry (I like my sag bhajees, very unauthentic but exciting with chilli and garlic) but I will be nice and not do a Thai Fish curry. If I'm feeling really abrasive it might be spaghetti al'olio arrabiata.

Refusal is rude. Requests for exemption on grounds of allergy without a vet's (sorry, doctor's) certificate are also rude.

Definition of food faddie. Ben Leopard does not like anything other than, sausages not in toad form , sausage rolls, burgers, chips, white bread. [preferably stodgy steam-bake] all of these not to touch or be in breathing distance of the other item on the plate. He also eats most meat, dry, no gravy or sauce, so bol and chillie definitely off limits. However.... none of that need concern you as Big and little male leopards are regenerating into fishing cats for the weekend. Yes Ben likes fish, especially in batter or having fingers. However he is not man enough to touch the lugworms! Daddy still has to do this for him .....Bless. Will see you next year at the Ship or somewhere else before maybe. Happy Christmas.

This starts to clarify spare bed arrangements:

Jeff suite 1 on back grounds.
Linda suite 2.
Pat and Dipsodeb - camper or welcome to suite 3 with sofabed.
Dipsodeb junior - suite 3 (or suite 4 if 3 taken).
Fisheye and George - suite 4 if vacant, or sofas or as previously.

That leaves caravan and lots of floors vacant so far. Gwenzilla if you are coming I will expect Fisheye and Goerge being gentlemen to give you priority over them - they are usually the first to wake and go so bed is of lesser priority I imagine!

Ransom readers - they are not really suites, it is a mildly amusing misnomer coined by Girl Friday. So don't bother coming to burgle and anyway if you did Bonnie and Ben might eat you!

Have a good time everybody. I don't remember coining the suite phrase, but it's fun isn't it ? Hope nobody misbehaves. You really don't want to get eaten by Bonnie or Ben. If bringing smallest leopard we would have brought a bag of sausage rolls. I would not expect anyone else to feed him. He managed burger and chips and toast on Saturday and dry white bread for breakfast Sunday and roast beef and chips for Sunday dinner. Apparantly he has behaved like this since aged one, and his mother pandas to him. Glad Linda is going,what's happened to Slats and Dilligaff ? Fallen over a Cliffe? Where's our wine ?

Well, that's starting to look like the following accommodations:

Me - my room!
Jeff - suite 1 on back grounds
Pat and Debs - suite 2 (daughter's double bed)
DB - futon in suite 3 (daughter's sitting room)
Linda and Sarah - two separate put u downs in suite 4 (cosy but not intimate)
[or might put futon into suite 4 and two put u downs into daughter's sitting room which is a bit wider]
Richard and George - sofas or put u downs in drawing room or as before.

That leaves upstairs landing (can take 1 put u down) and a lot of drawing room floor.

Dining room has accounts papers all over it right now but they may be gone by the 19th so leaving that floor free too but there are no curtains.

Caravan so far vacant and there is now a small electric heater in it.

Conservatory will be light at about 4 am - bad plan!

Did you not mention that bonnie and ben have there own beds and I expect they would share if anyone if desperate or drunk enough to ask them. x

Well Slats and Dilligaf live close enough to walk home if all else fails - so long as they do not wander in circles in the fields - as it's only about a mile. But if you cannot walk there is still the caravan and if you are too ished to walk you will not notice the cold!

Thank you for the thought Dilligaf, but if you know of a candidate, better to introduce me on an occasion when I will not have had about 10 Speckled Hens, and thus will still be able to rise to the occasion!

Locals Sean (used to play he says) and Sally (operatic soprano of some power - but hesitant to sing without worms and dots and much less to join chorusses) will probably be present - Linda you must make it your task to corrupt her!

No news yet of the local squeezer or bloke from the school.
