Subject: New! catchy Folk Food CD - from Oz! From: rich-joy Date: 26 Oct 05 - 10:08 PM YES! It's finally out! - and just in time for Christmas too :~))) THE FABULOUS "A Taste of Good Music" CD !!!!! The perfect music for your Taste Buds! From long-time Australian folkie, PAUL LAWLER and harmonically assisted by (of course!) "The Just Desserts" who are Richenda Bridge / Jenny Fitzgibbon / Carmel Givens : aka "Raw Silk" (but that's in another Life!) Ten songs with VERY catchy lyrics and tunes, that you'll find yourself singing in no time AND you get great recipes AS WELL !!! Is it Folk? Well OK, it's a bit quirky and OK, the lyrics are not exactly traditional. But! the original tunes sure do pay homage to Paul's long-time immersion in Folk Music! "Music to please the palate, tantalise the tastebuds, salivate the senses, and, gurgitate the gastrics"!!! Intrigued? Salivating already?! Go check it out at Paul and (Mudcatter) Richenda's new website : http://www.peculiarhand.com/ (30 sec grabs of all songs) - and remember! This CD will make the perfect Christmas present!!! (ask them about the discount for multiple copies!) to go straight to their food CD : http://www.peculiarhand.com/pages/atogm.html to go straight to their music credentials : http://www.peculiarhand.com/pages/acapella.html to go straight to their folk club : http://www.peculiarhand.com/pages/abofots.html Cheers! Subject: RE: New! catchy Folk Food CD - from Oz! From: Shimbo Darktree Date: 28 Oct 05 - 12:30 AM My first visit back to Mudcat for ages, and what do I find? A certain pair of local mountain dwellers (sounds better than "f#$%ing hippies", doesn't it?) are promoting their CD. Now, I've got to say, singing recipes left me somewhat doubtful, but I bought a CD anyway (well, one of the singers is 4' 10" in his heels, and 7 stone sopping wet!) and guess what? It is musically a brilliant piece of work - an interesting range of musical styles, and very well produced. Congratulations, folkies! And what does Mudcatland think of the idea of singing recipes? Shimbo (PS ... send my fee in a plain, brown-paper wrapper) |

Subject: RE: New! catchy Folk Food CD - from Oz! From: Shimbo Darktree Date: 29 Oct 05 - 12:16 AM Foolstroupe - nice to hear from you. Now, being a sensitive soul, I am appalled that you would suggest that Rich-Joy would hijack an academically-oriented folkophilosophical site like this for the crass purpose of advertising her wares (no, the CD ... do try and keep up). No matter how excellent the lyrics, how catchy the tunes, I am horrified that you would think I would lower myself to take part in a promotion of what is, possibly, a unique feat in the history of CD production. Shame! What? She's admitted it? Oh ... Shimbo |
