No. 20 should be "Port o' Dreams" by C. Fox Smith, adapted for singing by Charlie Ipcar.

You have my permission to release my rendition of it.

I think this was sung in the Open Sing and Jam at the Saturday Workshop in the Theater Barn

Cheerily,
Charley Noble

Ahhhh, as fir my "Mississppi Delta Blues, I'm not too sure whi8ch song of the 3 I did but if its the first song with a little intro, it's a Son House song entitled "Preachin' Blues" which goes like:

"I'm goina get religion
gonna join then Baptist church
Yeah, gonna get religion
gonna join the Baptist church
Gonna become a Baptist preacher
so I don't habe to work..."

Yeah if that's the one you have recorded, it an old, old Son House song from the late 20's...

Bobert

My comments seem to have vanished. Anyhow:

Didn't wake up this morning (or Ultimate Blues) was done by Bob Clayton
"When the Sun Goes Down" is generally called "In the Evenin'"; "Walkin' with my Baby" is generally called "San Francisco Bay Blues"--both sung by dick greenhaus, with the latter ably backed up by Leadfingers

Ebbie, what is "theater workshop"? I don't think we had anything on the program by that name. By the song titles I'm thinking maybe it was "The Sea and Other Waters," but I missed that myself, so I'm not sure.

In the Gospel to Raise the Roof session, "Don't you hear Jerusalem" was done by Dan Schatz. Too bad you missed Carly's opening number in that workshop, which has always been a favorite of mine, even though I don't know its correct title -- the chorus goes "I depend on you, you depend on me, faithful servant I will always be..." Great song for raising the roof!

#1 is generally called "My Sweetheart's a Mule in the Mines". That saves the punch line for later! :D

I knew I was on shaky ground with that one, Amos!

Assuming I was correct in the 'theatre' part, Nancy, that would have had to be a workshop in the theatre barn. I have the original document in the file and I will change it as I finalize.

Hi Ebbie,

#27 title is "My God He Is A Rock"

I'd like a copy of this CD, too.

Thanks, you wonderful woman!

I think Charley hit it, the title of the "Theater Workshop" was the "Open Sing & Jam" in the Theater Barn that was set up because so many workshop leaders wanted to go to "Remembering Helen Schneyer." Dani and Curmudgeon were leaders, is that the one?

Rita, who woke up & can't get back to sleep....

Ebbie, I believe I've already said this, I would LOVE to have any and all of these recordings.
