Anyone going to see the witches at Tudor 2nite?

2eyes and I have decided to escape the demolition dust of DIY and would be glad to see anyone up there. They're great and responsible for introducing us to the folk scene and people like Derrick a couple of years ago. Tickets available on door I was told last week.

Hope to make it back to Barton soon!

Keep up the good work Ross!

How much for a round of sandwiches? - no, your wrong - £20/then chips £6 - a portion

I wasn't hungry

Hi Martin - many thanks for coming along - it was good

There were quite a lot of diners in the back room, so it was a bit crowded - Yvonne has a yearning for the back room also and champions its cause at every opportunity - I'm still not sure - I think the pub has a bit more atmosphere even though it's noisy sometimes

Many thanks to all Martin, Trevor Accord, Stevi, John P, Rick & mate, Trevor MK, Rita, Yvonne, Derrick, Davina, Geoff, world famous Bert, Cathy, Richard, Keith, Eve & friend - sorry if I've missed anyone

Stevi - you left 3 No. harmonicas - John P has them - I'll PM his e-mail address to you

Bert - can you post info about Aldernham on this thread - time, date, venue etc.

Won't be able to pop up to Barton for a while, but will try. It'll be easier now that you've swopped to the Wednesday as it's not a work-night for me, so the drive back won't be such a pig! Mind you, it's about 110 mile round trip for me, so 'popping up' is probably an understatement.

But if anyone's near St Albans on Friday 18th November, I'm doing an evening at the Comfort Hotel. It'd be great to see some friendly faces there!

Meanwhile, keep up the good work Ross!

I went to an open mic at Aldernham yesterday - very good - I really enjoyed it

Don't worry Guru - I think we understand why you don't pop back for the sessions - have you started one yet in your new locality

I'm not sure if I can get to St Albans friday week - I find towns on weekend nights a bit intimidating - I'm just a country boy

Cheers Martin - we'll try and enjoy wednesday without your friendly faces

Hello Martin, have you heard george's song 'Anytown'?

One can avoid St Albans town centre by coming up Holywell hill from the M10 and exiting the same way so noone will see you

On Sundays we are looking at the possibilities of being a quiz team after last night!

Good morning one and all

I've lost my plectrums and capo at present

So I've cut a plectrum out of an old credit card and my guitar neck is swathed in old elastic bands

But I still sound like a cat in a dustbin being hit by a mallet

Silent Night! - it took me twenty years to play that

Monk jokes - wasn't there one that ends with 'it's your turn in the barrel'

Hi Ho I spy a silver capo.

A cut piece of beer mat could do the job of a plectrum its disposable, ive tryed using a beer mat with beer spilled over it, ive never played better, mainly that it did not make a sound, but the audiance stood up n clapped, they were glad I didnt make a sound.

my hairs falling out any advice from the doctor?

Cut your head off. I have not had any complaints yet. The solution to your lost plectrums and capos is buy an accordion. Since I bought mine I have not had any problems. I should be stewarding on Saturday for Dick Gaughan, oh yeah and Jan Strapp and Big PG himself. COOOOL The only problem is I will miss Bungtingford. Still never mind.

I think it's the Duke of Marlborough down Holywell Hill

Singing ref has started an e-mail reminder everyweek - if you PM him, I'm sure he'll add anyone to his list - the e-mail directs you to web sites and TV channels etc.

Dear Doctor - have you changed our thread into a dear deidre column

Hi Cathy - have you mastered polywollydoodle yet - dolly parton plays okay with all her nails

It's a Folk/tunes session tonight, although we've had lion taming a couple of times

would you mind mentioning that the St Albans clubs are closing with George Papavgeris this Friday and Jeremy Taylor on Sunday -20 tkts already sold- both gigs at the Comfort Hotel

Hi John - I was very sorry to hear that the St Albans clubs are closing - they will be a great loss to the folk circuit

It sounds a bit of a stressful time - I hope things are well with you - you have produced a magic time for both folk music and laughter in your area

You and everyone in the St Albans area are always welcome in Barton-Le-Clay for a sing song and a pint

Sorry I missed Guru

Hi John - thanks for the badgering - it least it makes me feel wanted

I'm sure Fleggy's song is brilliant - he is quite a talent

Still not sure why you're quitting again - don't you do this every three months - is it a publicity thing - are you really gonna do it - won't you miss it - what about the stable full of talent - where's it gonna go?

A reply in less than 10000 words will be acceptable

Cheers chirpy death dude - It's gonna take a while to get the web site all done

Good win for Luton against a railway junction last night

I was at Buntingford Sunday from 11am to 2pm - there was eleven present including catsphiddle, micca, Alan Francis and Jimmy Page

It must have been a good Saturday - there were a few hangovers

That sounds like it was good. We only lost 1-0 to Coventry, so they are not so bad. Watched Luton last night had a few great jokes, as I was drinking one of many "Titanic Ales" I said "That goes down easily" And when we where playing in the thick fog the score was 0-0 at the time I said. " I can't see us winning this one dude" Oh it's a laugh a minute.

Yeah - could be Stevi - I've been there till 1/2am before the law changed

Thanks for last night to all the regulars - John B, Bert, Pat, Keith, Eve and Trevor (accord) - the hardy few survive - many apologies for my lack of practice

I've seen a Luton football match in the fog - it must be where that Herbert fellow got the idea for the book

There's a car way to Devon

IT's the peak of the week

The Bull domino team won 3-2 last night, away in Barcelona

We were dumped out of the cup on Tuesday though, so life not all a bowl of cherries

We all drank until 3 am and fire bombed the high street - we've never done that before, but now the law has changed - what the hell

Nun joke reprise:

Novice nun gets pregnant after a year in the service - how can this be asks the mother superior - hasn't the priest been telling you about the evils of sin

Oh yes said the novice - he made me show my nether regions and called them the gates to heaven - then he lifted up his frock and showed me the key to open them

Well the little liar said the mother superior - he told me that was Gabriel's horn

Martin. well done to you - poor Eagles.

Have you seen Hans Theessink before? If so, marks out if 10? Is he one not to miss cos I can't decide whether to go and the publicity sounds great but can always be a bit biased.

nothing libellous, slanderous, implicatory or defamatory inferred.
