Hi Nick

Your thread is in danger of slipping off the bottom which is a great shame because the saxophone is a great instrument for folk music. If you can't find a teacher you might find the sax version of the "Tune a Day" books helpful as a self-teach method - or ask in your local music shop for advice. Which sax do you want to learn?

The person who requires tuition is the daughter of a colleague, I presume a Alto Sax as she is only 12/13 years old

Ah!

In which case a teacher would be the better option. Try asking in local music shops - they usually have contacts.

Best of luck.

Nick

Try a Google Search on - saxophone teacher Leeds. You'll get a list of saxophone teachers in UK including Kat Brown based in Pudsey. There may be others of interest.

Good luck to your colleague's daughter.
