She certainly saw the world very differently to the way I do. I hope her passing was painless and that her friends and relatives are left to grieve in peace.
I hope very much that this thread does not quickly degenerate into tirades of abuse from either her admirers or from those who are baffled by her admirers (like myself). There is no need to bear malice towards the departed.

Lady Thatcher had suffered a serious heart attack but most guests thought she was choking on a bone. One man ran behind her and started punching her in the back to no avail.

Are they really sure he was trying to help?

I did not have time to read further, as I am doing a translation at the moment. I got a bit suspicious, when I Googled and found no other stories. I guess it does not matter so much if I look a bit of a fool.
As a retired octegenarian, she is hardly in any position to do me any harm now. Enough said.

Been too busy today helping with real social problems and real people to hear any "formal" news. Glad you've got enough spare time to contemplate inaginary news though. Got taken in for a bit, read it and was "fooled". Not that funny really - can't remember laughin. It's gonna happen one day anyway, inevitably. Can't be bothered one way or the other really. Well done!

This must be from those same idiots that ran the story awhile back about Kong being rescuscitated after over 65 years in cryogenic freezing. Dimwits! Haven't they got anything better to do? I have to admit, though, the Thatcher story is quite a bit funnier.

She is a bad person (yes they do exist, sadly).
She ruined public services and ruined many lives, also.
However why did her advisers not suggest she get her teeth done sooner? Many think it was her mouth which finally drove her mad.

Can you lot ( ie those wishing her a painful death etc) please make your minds up, and come up with a concise list of those you hate, and confining all your pointless bitching about them to one thread? May I suggest 'Popular views of the Bush administration'

I'm Guessing Thacher, Regan, Bush (W) and Blair would proably be the top four. Any more?

Not the first time someone has pretended someone was dead on a Mudcat thread. A very extraordinary thing to do, in my opinion. It's hardly a clever hoax, naturally people will believe it if you say it. Very curious, the motivation, I can't really understand it at all. Is it meant to be funny? Or vindictive? It just doesnt seem to work for me.

As an admirer of Thatcher I will confess to a being taken in for a few seconds until realising the adress shown wasn't BBC. I wasn't offended and my response might have provided a wry chuckle to the original poster not that he could have seen it. I think that greg has got the way of it in his last post I don't quite get the motivation behind it I certainly would not trust mudcat in future which is a shame as I check mudcat far more often than the BBC newspage. I am relieved that the thread title has been changed.

On a different note I do believe that anyone who wishes such ill harm on another living being can not be a very nice person. Such malice being bared in a community such as this is discordant to the general values expressed within my experience of the folk world. I think it says more about the poster than about the content of the posting. Cllr

Well, I didn't see this thread till now, after the title picked up the (not). Otherwise you'd have got me too. What a shame - still they say that life often imitates art, so maybe that will happen soon. One can always hope!

GUEST, the big man, just highlight the URL, right click and copy, then open up your email, right click again in the body of the email and paste. It will automatically become a link - at least that's what happens for me in Outlook Express. Do all the email systems work like that?

Through some cosmic fluke, Reagan, Thatcher, and Gorbachev all died on the same day. Off they went to the gates of Heaven. Peter, seeing that these were all VIPs, sent them straight off to the Almighty.

God, sitting on his throne, called up Reagan.

"Ronald, my son, what have you to say for yourself?"

"I tried to improve the US economy," replied Reagan, "and I did my best to benefit the nation."

"Very well, my son, come up and sit beside me at my right hand."

And so Reagan sat at his right.

God then called up Gorbachev.

"Mikhail, my son, what have you to say for yourself?"

"I tried to make Soviet society more open," replied Gorbachev, "and I did my best to improve the Soviet economy."

"Very well, my son, come up and sit beside me at my left hand."

And so Gorbachev sat at his left.

God then called up Thatcher.

"Margaret, my daughter, what have you to say for yourself?"

"Only two things," replied Thatcher. "First of all, I'm not your daughter. Secondly, get out of my chair!"
