I would like to know the title and artist for a country song I remember hearing in the 1980s. The chorus went something like:


I have to let her go
although I love her still
she'd be no good to me
if I held her against her will.

Does anyone recognize it?

Something you might try if you encounter that problem in future. Take the words you DO know and google them in quotationa I tried two of the lines an got nowhere. However, if ya do a google of

"if I held her against her will"

well, do so, and see where it takes ya.

Sorcha likely knew that off the top of her head. She has one heckuva memory for songs. However, the rest of us . . . .
