Subject: Ryton Village Folk Club - MOVED

Last Thursday we visited the successor to Ryton Folk Club - in the Black Bull, Bridge St. Blaydon and now called Tyne Folk.

Arriving shortly after 8 we found the singing had already started.

There were 24 singers(most of whom sing two songs)and half a dozen audience.Danny McLeod was in the chair and conducted proceedings admirably.

I cannot remember a night with such quality of songs performed by singers who were so at ease with their choice of song.

Considering this was only week three at the new venue the future looks great. Pity I am normally 150 miles away on Thursday nights.

Any excuse to refresh.

Line 3 ..."sing two songs".... should read ..."sang twice"...
