New Mudcatter SunnySister and I are planning to go to the herga Folk Club on the 21st. Is there a tube stop nearby, or any other way to get there on public transit? Thanks. hope to meet 'Catters there, and at Sharp House the next night. Which remionds me to ask about a tube stop near Cecil Sharp house as well.

The nearest tube to Sharps is Camden Town. Then a five or ten minute walk in the direction of Regents Park.

No tube station - but the Hatch End station on the Silverlink rail line is 300 yds from the Harrow Arts Centre where Herga is housed.

There are some bus routes too. Have a look at the website www.hergafolk.org

The Bakerloo line to Harrow & Wealdstone via Queen's Park is very slow because there are lots of stops. The Silverlink service from Euston to Milton Keynes is much quicker getting to Harrow & Wealdstone, because it doesn't make any other stop before it gets to H&W. But you may have to wait 20 minutes at H&W for a train from Queen's Park going to Watford, like I did on Monday, to make the last 2 stops to Hatch End. The faster trains come in on platform 5, and the slow train to Watford via Hatch End comes in on platform 1.

We didn't make it to the Herga session after all; just too exhausted having arrived to london from york that evening. We were at the Sharp House singers session the night after, which was great. Met Leadfingers there, and I'm too fogged in the brain now (just arrived home) to remember the other two "Catters names we met there, one of them doing some lovely Celtic harp and singing (was that Blowzabella?).

Sharp's was, for me, the perfect singers night. It was relaxed, fun, with both huorous songs and some moving ballads. There were singers visiting from other countries as well as myself and SunnySister; one from North Carolina who sang a beautiful unaccompanied ballad, in Appalachian singing style. A great night!
