I know what you mean Big Al. He is almost annoyingly good, isn't he? And you can't even hate the guy, because he's a good bloke. Life is so unfair!

Thanks for all the positive comments, and "Guru", thanks for the link. I did try to do the clicky thing but it showed me trying to paste a shopping list in to the message and I gave up. I will give my self more time to investigate next time.
I'm really looking forward to seeing and hearing Paul; there was a forum message a while back that prompted me to follow him up and here we are! Isn't folk great!
All we need now is the audience!

Thanks Alanabit , the more people that hear about a new club, the better it will be for the future.
We will be losing our present premises after Xmas, they will be turning their function room into hotel accomodation, and I am negotiating with several alternate sites. Rest assured that we will still be in South East Cornwall. We have negotiations in the pipeline with future guests and if anyone has a venue idea that has not crossed my mind let me know!
It needs to be 2nd and 4th Thursdays every month.
Thanks. Bo

Basically Al, I think its that visionary thing that makes a unique artist like Paul. Lots of us can play the notes - some of us can play all the notes (not necssarily in the right order!).

guys like Paul and Bert Jansch and Django - they may not have all the shots, but they see shots that people like myself would never dream existed. Its that Alex Higgins thing. Steve Davis had probably more technical prowess, but on his day Alex would envision shots that nobody else would have thought of.

the thing about brilliance is that it comes in flashes. there are thoughtful divergent thinkers who play the guitar, like Carthy and Ralph McTell. that's one kind of genius. Paul's talent is more mercurial and unexpected - the kind that makes you catch your breath.

meanwhile wishing you all the best and enquiring as to if you'll be teaming up with Bodders and F on the Moor to arrange tours?

El Greko is heading that way aka George Papavgeris, who last night was support for Dick Gaughan and is already gigged for Sidders, Broadstairs and the Australian national Folk fest

www.folk4all.net

Hope you find another venue Bo, seems a pity after you start off with such a bang.

Have you a contact for Perrot's Folly who are agents for Jeremy Taylor, Derek Brimstone, Johnny Silvo, Mary Mellor aka Middleton-Pollock

Jeremy Taylor will be appearing in St Albans on Sun 27th Nov at the 'Windward' Folk Club at the Comfort Hotel

Thanks Breezy, yes I have as many agents/contacts as I need
(I work full time at The Rum Store/Carnglaze)
I have to keep an eye on Bodmin of course but F on Moor is less of a clash, a little out of my expected capture area. It is a near 1 hour drive for me and coming back late on a Sunday night is not always welcome. I have to stay low on beer intake!
We have just been informed that Vikki Clayton is having a minor operation and we are waiting confirmation of her availability for our Dec 22nd night.
If she can't make it I might have a surprise up my sleeve but it depends on other things coming together. Watch this space as they say!
Regards all, Bo

Sorry Breezy, wrong guess! My stand-bys don't even know about it yet so no names at this stage. I will get them in future though. But I do have my fingers crossed that Vikki Clayton will be able to appear. If she reads this we wish her a speedy healing.
Bo

SoH would be nice eh? but not available to us at this time, we have tried. Nice and local too!
Just hope I do not have to call on my friends to stand in on 22th Dec, I plan to use them in the future.
Further to earlier comments, Johnny Silvo was at The Rum Store a while ago....what a lovely man and a great performer. Rest assured he is on my list if he can fit us in on his next UK tour.
Bo
