11/18/1874: off Cape of Good Hope, a fire arose on the Cospatrick. 472 died, 3 anthropophagi survived.

          With frantic cries they rent the air
          They rushed on deck, no help was there.
          All through the ship the flames did sweep
          And many plunged into the deep.
