I'll be in London next Monday evening, and just wondered if there are any folk club nights? I'd prefer somewhere in central London rather than the outskirts.

Any ideas anyone?

Ali

Try the website for Cecil Sharp House (Camden Town)...they should have some links.

Sorry Ali - Sharps, which is central, runs at C# House on Tuesdays. The Monday clubs aren't central - Herga, Croydon or Waltham Abbey.

Depends what you are looking for but there is an excellent Bluegrass slanted session in the bar at the Hemingford Arms, Hemingford Road (Canonbury Road Tube)from about 8.00 pm on.

There is also a website Folk London which lists most if not all London clubs, club nights and addresses etc.

Will be great to see yet more new faces at Herga. The singing will be wonderful. The beer will be something else - no, that is not praise. Smuggle your own in unless you like canned beer in plastic glasses.

Parking is OK in Morrisons car park if the Arts Centre is full. 2 mins walk and they don't lock the barrier after hours.

Looking forward to seeing Ali again (we 've met); and ChanteyRanger has just called me for directions too, he'll be there with Carole (I think I got the name right, if not, then blame crackly line).

Voice still a bit "coldy", but getting there...

It could be worth staying another day to enjoy an evening at Sharps - although it is a few years since I've been there.
