Electra Guitars: there's a page on them at Wikipedia. Apparently they made a lot of copies of popular electric guitars, especially Les Pauls, but many others as well, and were endorsed by some famous names of the 70's, Peter Frampton and Rick Derringer. Quality varied a lot.

Quite a lot of info here: http://www.rivercityamps.com/electra/index.php

They certainly have their enthusiasts today.

You should take it to a (full service) local music store and ask there. We don't know where you are, Mudcat is an international site; if you tell us, Mudcatters might have some helpful suggestions for you. Mine would be to stay local and not ship it if it is of value to you. In fact, I am not sure you should have the finish repaired at all--that usually damages the value. Just have it looked over by a competent repairman and see if s/he has any recommendations to ensure its continuing playability, and if they think any finish touchups are required.

That's your dad's wear and tear on it, after all.

Good luck, hope you enjoy having the guitar.

My Dad has an Electra Guitar, which is now mine after he recently passed away. Where can I send the guitar to have it refurbished; nothing major; just a couple of hole filled and scratches taken out. To me, it's a special guitar.

Help!!
