Subject: BS: I need the name of a film From: GUEST Date: 30 Nov 05 - 07:06 AM I saw this film when I was a child and I don't remember the name of it. I only remember that it was set in the Prehistoric Age and a man was fighting with a huge crab. A Science fiction film Thanks |

Subject: RE: BS: I need the name of a film From: jeffp Date: 30 Nov 05 - 09:03 AM Would it be, "Mysterious Island?" The one about the escapees from a American Civil War prison camp whose balloon crashes on the island. They battle a giant crab and end up tipping it into a fumarole, which cooks it. Giant crab feast follows. A real treat for this Maryland boy. From the story (book?) by Jules Verne. |

Subject: RE: BS: I need the name of a film From: Fiolar Date: 30 Nov 05 - 09:24 AM It's more likely to be "Attack of the Crab Monsters" (1957) which was directed by Roger Corman and starred Richard Garland and Ed Nelson among others. However there is also "When Dinosaurs Ruled the Earth" (1970) which has several giant crabs attacking cave people on a beach before a tidal wave arrives. |

Subject: RE: BS: I need the name of a film From: Big Mick Date: 30 Nov 05 - 01:07 PM Fiolar, he talks about knocking the crab into a hot springs and feasting on it. I think I recall that in Mysterious Island. |
Subject: RE: BS: I need the name of a film From: jeffp Date: 30 Nov 05 - 01:18 PM Mick, I was the one talking about the feast, not the original poster. |
Subject: RE: BS: I need the name of a film From: Big Mick Date: 30 Nov 05 - 01:25 PM Thanks, Jeff. I think that Fiolar might be right on this, now that I reread the original post. Mick |
Subject: RE: BS: I need the name of a film From: Jerry Rasmussen Date: 30 Nov 05 - 02:25 PM Having the crabs is far more frightening. I think it must be Mysterious Island. I've seen it on tv recently.. Jerry Nothing can equal the terror of Night Of The Lupus, though Jerry |
Subject: RE: BS: I need the name of a film From: Cluin Date: 30 Nov 05 - 11:03 PM Mysterious Island. It sounds like a Ray Harryhausen project. |
Subject: RE: BS: I need the name of a film From: Stilly River Sage Date: 01 Dec 05 - 12:57 AM Sounds like there is more than one film with giant crabs! |
Subject: RE: BS: I need the name of a film From: GUEST,ivor Date: 01 Dec 05 - 07:48 AM There's a film I'd like the name of. (Is that a separate thread?) If not, all I remember is a couple tied to chairs in a jail and a snake (snakes) being let into the jailroom. Black and white, before 1957. If anyone can help, I'd be grateful (and of course, amazed) |
