Date: 01 Dec 05 - 08:56 PM TORTURE Kris Jensen Torture, torture Baby, you're torturing me Why do you lead me around And make me chase ya When I catch ya, You won't let me embrace ya Please baby, have a heart Cause can't you see You're torturing me Torturing me This torture that I'm going through Is worth the pain if I have you So, if you love me, let me know But if you don't , please let me go Torture, torture Baby, you're torturing me You know that I'm crazy about you Yet you make me do without you Do you mean to hurt, or don't you see You're torturing me, torturing me |

Subject: RE: Who sang 'Torture'? From: Gern Date: 03 Dec 05 - 09:48 AM My wife, as a little girl, loved this song so much that her outspoken father finally smashed the 45 over his knee to make it stop. We similarly roused Noriega out of his sanctuary by blasting bad pop music at him. "Torture," indeed. |
Subject: RE: Who sang 'Torture'? From: Allan C. Date: 03 Dec 05 - 12:21 PM My own recollection of this song is that the title spoke volumes about the song, itself. The vocalist truly sounded tortured, IMHO. I found it unbearable and was glad to see it slide swiftly from the survey in which it never got past #20. The song was also released on one of the Everly Brothers albums, little improved by their rendition. |
Subject: RE: Who sang 'Torture'? From: Grab Date: 04 Dec 05 - 02:41 PM Ketty Lester did one called "Sweet Torture". |
Subject: RE: Who sang 'Torture'? From: Cruiser Date: 04 Dec 05 - 10:35 PM Allan C has the right song. Torture debuted 10/06/62 and charted for 6 weeks (Joel Whitburn). I actually liked the song, but then again I also liked Patches, Teen Angel, Tell Laura I Love Her, Tradegy, etc. |
