For those of you who are in driving distance of Rockland County, NY,
Work O The Weavers is having a return engagement at the Orangetown Jewish Center in Orangeburg,N.Y. The concert is this Sunday, December 4th at 4 PM. Last year they drew over 300 people. I hear that they have a lot of new material to present in addition to the old standbys. That is why I will be in attendance again this year. If you have not seen this group yet you are really missing something good.

Wish I could come, Rabbi.

Way to far from Chicago though.

Sol,

If you would, please give my salutations to James Durst! Tell him I remember his song "Cricket" fondly--about kid on the run in Viet Nam during the chaos of the war. I hope he's still doing it.

Art Thieme

Hi Art,
I will talk to him during the intermission and request that he do this song. I also plan on talking to him about appearing at one of our house concerts here in Rockland County.

I just returned from the concert and it was a resounding success. We had an audience of about 250. Half were returnees from last year and the others were all new faces. This was a very enthusiastic audience that sang along on all the choruses. Bill Hahn was there recording the entire concert for future airing on his WFDU "Traditions" show.
I printed out Art's message and personally handed it to James Durst. He sends back his warmest regards to you, Art. Yes, he is still doing "Cricket" as part of his repertoire but did not think it was appropriate for the audience he was playing to today which was primarily a "Weavers" crowd.
