Hi all - I'm off work now so visits to Mudcat will be a bit sporadic

I went to the Redbourn folk club christmas party last Thursday - it was very good and I won a CD in the raffle - all the stars were on parade

I'm not planning much music over Christmas period

Everyone is invited to the folk session this Wednesday at the Bull - 28th December

I hope to see you all - starts 8:30ish

Hi John - many thanks for all that

I might make a new year resolution to get to Herga in 2006 - would they let me perform?

Happy Christmas everyone

It's a bluesy/anything goes tonight - maybe quite acoustic if the electric thing is putting any one off - at the Bull tonight

The truth is out there, way out.

Herga did a lovely Christmas party with a singaround headlined by Johnny Collins, George Papa, Kitty Vernon, Mary O'Connor, Chris Flegg, who also accompanied Moses on a really good number !!

Plus the traditional herga party pieces

Its worth popping along at least once to this the most famous of original folk clubs that was, if I believe to be correct, set up by John Heydon over 43 years ago

do visit their site, better still go and visit.

Do make a date to be at El G's CD launch on 3rd April

Three men died on Christmas Eve and were met by  Saint Peter at the
pearly gates. Â In honor of this holy season," Saint Peter said, Â "you
must each possess  something that symbolizes Christmas to get into
heaven." The first man  fumbled through his pockets and pulled out a
lighter. He flicked it on. Â It represents a candle, he said. You may
pass  through the pearly gates  Saint Peter said. The second man reached
into his  pocket and pulled out  a set of keys. He shook them and said,
"They're  bells" . Saint Peter  said you may pass through the pearly
gates. The  third man started  searching desperately through his pockets
and  finally pulled out a pair  of women's panties. St. Peter looked at
the man  with a raised eyebrow  and asked, "And just what do those
symbolize?" Â The man replied............. a carol!!!!!

Ahhhh, poor John - he's done so much for care in the community

Luton v Watford - 2nd January - Buncefield explodes

Here's a joke nicked off the internet:

Not long ago and far away, Santa was getting ready for his annual trip...but there were problems everywhere.

Four of his elves got sick, and the trainee elves did not produce the toys as fast as the regular ones so Santa was beginning to feel the pressure of being behind
schedule.

Then Mrs. Claus told Santa that her mom was coming to visit. This stressed Santa even more. When he went to harness the reindeer, he found that three of them were about to give birth and two had jumped the fence and were out, heaven knows where. More Stress.

Then when he began to load the sleigh, one of the boards cracked and the toy bag fell to the ground and scattered the toys. Totally frustrated, Santa went into the house for a cup of coffee and a shot of whisky.

When he went to the cupboard, he found the elves had hit the bottle and there was nothing to drink. In his frustration, he dropped the coffee pot and it broke into hundreds of little pieces all over the kitchen floor. He went to get the broom and found that mice had eaten the straw it was made from.

Just then the door bell rang and Santa cussed on his way to the door. He opened the door and there was a little angel with a great big Christmas tree. The angel said: "Where would you like to put this tree fat man?"

And that my friend, is how the little angel came to be on top of the tree.

Yeah, that what was odd winning the quiz and then being hopeless at Family Fortunes/popular culture - as if a ten bob note is useful knowledge now?

Chris is quite an inspiration - the new song about cats was very good

Comment heard in a jeweller's shop - we do two types of crucifix - the plain sort and the one with a little man on it

It was a singaround and I got to sing a couple of times

It's a nice club - there is a lot of very funny banter and some excellent parody singers

You were busy last night
