Subject: Review: Lodge Moor Carolling From: Folkiedave Date: 12 Dec 05 - 07:02 PM Went up to the Sportsman tonight for a carol sing at the Sportsman. Low key if you are used to Dungworth or Worral or one of the other big sings. But great fun and some nice stuff not always sung. Sheets of songs on sale for a £ to charity. Comes recommended. Off to another "new" sing tomorrow at the Rivelin Hotel. Come along, all welcome, piano accompaniment to keep people in key! Best regards, Dave |

Subject: RE: Review: Lodge Moor Session From: Matthew Edwards Date: 13 Dec 05 - 03:00 PM Thanks for that Dave, sounds like a session worth visiting - if only I didn't live on the other side of the Pennines! The smaller sings like Stannington are often rewarding. Please do report on the Rivelin session. There is an interesting article by Roger Redfern about some of the nearby countryside in today's Guardian Country Diary Bradfield Dale. |
