Some bleak days as a football equivalent of the woeful Senators, but they weren't worthy of a Broadway Musical. I don't particularly like their front office management any more than I do that of the Orioles (I might like the Nationals ownership, if they had any), but I knew them before the tradition o winning set by Allen and Gibbs that these people here bemoan, and I still begrudgingly pull for them. I, too, see nothing to quite match the Colts this year from the NFC, so hope for a Colts-Pats rematch and a Manning Brothers shootout just for entertainment value. |

However, the secondary is still not up to snuff. When a small rookie cornerback (Hobbs) is your top producer and Peyton, operating the best hurry-up offense ever seen, has weapons at nearly every eligible position, only the defense can win the game. The Chargers did just that yesterday. Masterful defensive coordiation by the coaching staff. Can the Pat's defense do the same thing? I would say yes, but, on any given day.... A prediction : Watch for Evans in the backfield when the Pats meet the Colts.... I have a hunch he will be a "secret weapon" in the first half, maybe even longer, resting Dillon, Faulk, and Pass as necessary. |
