Red House is a no no. Julie Fagans on Thursday is the only night where there is no music, it's quiz night !!

Fagan's looks good as it's on the same street and only a couple of hundred yards at most from where I'll be working (according to multimap)! I'll bring an instrument!

Thanks again!

Peace

Fagan's! As far as I know, Mondays, Tuesdays and Wednesdays are good for tunes, not sure what happens on the other days. And it's very close to the university.

http://www.folk-network.com/ (some session and club updates on front page)

Directory link: http://www.folk-network.com/directory/sessions.html (South Yorkshire, North Derbyshire, adjacant areas: where there is an Irish emphasis, this is usually indicated)

Also listings at http://www.yorkshire-folk-arts.com/ (Yorkshire and Northern Lincolnshire)

There are some updates due; in particular, things have changed recently at the Red House. Should have time to see to these over Christmas.

Although my name still appears with the listings in Stirrings, these are actually maintained by the editor, Raymond Greenoaken, and have diverged rather from those indicated above. Another job for the new year will be for us to bring them all into line with each other again.

Sheffield City Morris often have a play in the Gardeners Rest on Neepsend Lane each Monday night throughout the year. This is listed on the SRFN site as well.

Fancy a bit of Morris dancing could you? Note this is a great chance for world wide travel and the lastest tours are Burgundy/and or Syria where we have an invite for a seven day tour with 5* hotel and all meals. And only two performances.

Then of course there is always the Folk Train:

Hard to fit it all in!!

Many thanks Emma, MC and Julie. This is already a good start. Irish sessions would be good.

It looks as though I will be coming across and up to Sheffield University several times a year in future to do some external advisory work for one of their research facilities.

I know several 'Catters live in the area and would be very grateful if any of you could let me know of any good sessions in the city. I am more of a tunes person than a singer but hints on either would be welcome.

Many thanks in advance!

Peace

moo
