Subject: Lyr/Chords Add: PLEASE DON'T LET ME LOVE YOU From: Roger in Baltimore Date: 19 Jan 99 - 09:57 PM Frank, I would have thought this would be in COWPIE, but I couldn't find it there. So I looked in OLGA and found your first request. I give you the two links, because they are "what's happenin'" when you are looking for country songs. Here's the song from OLGA. If you are really interested in the recitation "The Funeral" I would encourage you to start a new thread with that request. It is more likely to catch the attention of someone than burying it inside a different request as you did here. You never know when someone has memorized that recitation, but he won't look on this thread 'cause he doesn't know a lick of music. Could be a lady in that situation, too.
PLEASE DON'T LET ME LOVE YOU
Oh! [D] Plea-ease - don't let me [G] love you
Because you're [A7] sweet dear, I want to [D] love you
Oh! Plea-ease - don't call me darlin'
When I'm lonely, I want you only Enjoy the song! Roger in Baltimore

Subject: RE: Req.Please don't let me love you,HankW. From: Frank/Mountain Tyme Date: 20 Jan 99 - 01:31 AM Thanks so Much Roger in Balt. for the prompt post of this great song, advice, and links new to me. I have located my old 78rpm record of The Funeral. I am new to this site and am very impressed with the warm feelings permiating the room. Just like old tyme AM superhet "tube" radio. I have a very large collection of old (1880's on) lyrics and recordings and hope I can be as helpfull in the future as you all have been in the past two weeks. |
Subject: RE: Req.Please don't let me love you,HankW. From: Dennis in Northern Canada Date: 20 Jan 99 - 01:55 AM Hey, thanks for the lyrics guys. First heard this song from a lovesick cowboy whom I dubbed the honky tonk man. This was back in the Mad Trapper Bar in Inuvik Northwest Territories where Hank Williams wrung the pain from the hearts and souls of a tormented Native Population and gave them hope and inspiration in his country blues. God bless you all. Dennis Victor Allen Yellowknife Northwest Territories Canada |
