Subject: sweetone whistles From: alison Date: 21 Jan 99 - 12:44 AM Hi, Just looking for a second opinion before I destroy some whistles. Can you remove the mouthpieces from Sweetones to retune them...... like you would do with a Generation? I have plenty of experience with Generations, but will it hurt the Sweetones?...... mind you they're unplayable at the moment anyway because they're out of tune. Slainte alison |
Subject: RE: sweetone whistles From: Bobby Bob, Ellan Vannin Date: 21 Jan 99 - 05:47 PM Yes, I've got a few Sweetones. Whether it does them any good or not, I've whipped the mouthpiece of them to adjust up and down in sessions, and it seems to work OK. The ones I've got seem to be liable to corrosion at the top end where the mouthpiece fits on, butyou can rub it off or ignore it. So yes, anyway, works for me. Bobby Bob.

I found it because I have Alice's haiku page on my website, where almost any subject is accepted as long as it is in haiku form. alice in montana

Subject: RE: sweetone whistles From: alison Date: 23 Jan 99 - 01:08 AM thanks Baz, yes that makes it much easier, (but to anyone who hasn't done this before DO NOT use boiling water....... it'll melt your mouthpiece). Vaseline makes it go back together easier too. Slainte alison |
Subject: RE: sweetone whistles From: Garry Date: 23 Jan 99 - 06:09 AM Vaseline is good for other things too, but it sure is hard to clean up afterwards Ky is better |
