Hi - I logged on in past years as GuestFoe but have joined up now. I ran a song circle at the Hyattstown Mill in Clarksburg, MD for a number of years and have just relocated to the West Coast and have started a Song Circle at the Santa Cruz Mountains Art Center in Ben Lomond, CA. (there used to be a perma-thread of ongoing Song Circles on Mudcat - ??) Anyway, it's the third Saturday of every month, from 6:30 to 9:30PM. The Art Center also has an acoustic jam the first Wednesday of every month from 7 to 9 hosted by local West Coast performer Jayme Kelly Curtis. Any interested persons can get info by GOOGLE - ing Santa Cruz Mountains Art Center or by contacting me at artist@forrestmeader.com.

Hi Foefoe, I used to help run a song circle in Boulder Creek but now do most of my singing in San Francisco, Jessica Bryan and Tom Clunie who were central to that song circle moved up to Oregon. I still have a home in Boulder creek and could be persuaded to return on the third Saturdays if you have room for a singer of (mostly) traditional British folksongs

We have room for everyone at the song circle. Sing your songs or teach songs or lead songs. I'm putting together song books (3-ring binders) and if you want to add anything to it, bring 12 copies on jan 21st. We have the circle on a Sat eve so families and kids can show up. I love the old ballads as my ancestors came from Affpiddle in Dorset to New England in 1640

Refresh -- sounds like fun, and surely SLV needs more stuff like this! Thanks for organizing it. I hope to drop by tomorrow night on the way to the Brookdale Lodge, where my sister's band, Annie and the Vets, will be opening for Country Joe. (How's that for a subtle plug?)

It's a bit of a drive from Hollister, but if other things permit I will certainly show up sooner or later. Thank you for hosting. (I'm afraid if I tried staring a circle in Hollister, it might be more of a point.)

GOOD GRIEF!! Is Brookdale Lodge still there? Does it still have the creek running through the middle of the restaurant? Next thing you'll tell me is that "Heavenly Hamburgers" is still in Felton, where I used to live in the 60's. Ben Lommond is beautiful area. CHEERS, Bob(deckman)Nelson
