Subject: RE: Julie Ellison: Free Downloads Now Online From: John Robinson (aka Cittern) Date: 16 Feb 06 - 04:40 PM We've had a great response to the launch of Julie's myspace site, with nearly 900 plays and/or downloads of her music since mid-January. Julie's "friends list" shows just how popular myspace has become with folk and acoustic artists. It features Karine Polwart, Seth Lakeman, Nick Harper, Tia McGraff, Gillian Welch, Rory Ellis, Kathryn Williams, Kerfuffle, Cara Dillon, Jim Moray, The Levellers, Nickel Creek, Amy Wadge, Afro Celt Sound System, Uiscedwr and KT Tunstall among others. Here's a selection of comments about Julie's music, made by visitors to the site: "Your guitar work reminds me of Bert Jansch... In other words you're awesome..." "You are one of the most gifted guitarists I have ever heard" "Your music sounds great...reminds me of one of my all-time favourites...Joni...love it! :) Beautiful stuff" "your voice has a sandy denny resemblance, which is cool" "really awesome music...little bit niffty on the strings arnt ya!!!??" "lovely thoughtful songs" You can hear the tracks by visiting http://www.myspace.com/julieellison. Although you have to join as a myspace member to download the music, non-members can hear the tracks on automatic play whenever they visit the page. Julie's Spring tour begins in late March, with details on her myspace page as well as her own website. Regards John Robinson Acoustyistics Ltd http://www.julieellison.co.uk |
