I'm very sorry to hear of your sad loss Tom. I hope that he went peacefully.

I'm sure he's "up there" with my dad looking down on us both.

My condolences to you, Tom. My dad's been gone just over a year and I miss him very much.

When and if you feel up to it, maybe you could tell us a bit about him?

May you find peace and comfort in the memories of your times with him.

How grand for him, to go while on holiday, and with his dear son close by. Love to hear what you mean by, "He had a good life." I bet there's a lot of love packed into those few words.

it must be difficult being far from home at such a time.
where is your home, and where was his?
treasure your memories of him.
and don't be reluctant
to ask for help,
support and
aid.

My condolences too. There is never a right time for these things, however, I would like to have my son close by when I go too.

So sorry to hear this, Tom. From what you've said in the past, you and your dad were pretty close, weren't you. Helen is right - there are a few of us Mudcatters scattered around Australia, and I'm sure any of us would be glad to help. I'm in Sydney. If there is anything I can do, let me know. Can you PM? Or can't you log on? I'd be happy for you to PM me if you can.

Jenny

Tom Hamilton is also Tam the Bam, a regular here on the Cat, and I seem to remember he already has family in Australia.

Tam sorry to hear about your Dad, 80's not a bad innings, and I hope he went peacefully.

Regards

Giok

Tom I am very sorry for the loss of your Father.
I am glad that you both were able to share time with each other in Australia.
80 years is a long time but we wish we could have the people we love with us here forever.
Bless your Father and I hope that when your grief eases you will be able to share some of the great things about his Life with us all.
You are Both in my thoughts.

Light and Blessings
Jude
