Subject: La Vie En Rose From: GUEST,Jim Yates Date: 21 Jan 06 - 12:30 PM I once heard Bob Bossin sing a song to the tune of La Vie En Rose with nonsensical French words. I think it ended with Pierre Treudeau. Are these words available anywhere? |
Subject: RE: La Vie En Rose (Parody) + O Sole Mio parody From: Genie Date: 21 Jan 06 - 01:27 PM I'd love to hear it, Jim! Steve Allen wrote and sang a similar song in Spanish that was hilarious. It was just a bunch of semi-randomly thrown together Spanish words and phrases (mostly from menus, I think) to the tune of O Sole Mio, e.g. "Carne asada, Dos enchiladas Y guacamole .... frijoles ..." |
Subject: RE: La Vie En Rose (Parody) From: Micca Date: 21 Jan 06 - 02:04 PM I heard this done by the Late Great Kenneth Williams, all I remembr is it was a lot of French phrases strung together with the tune, and ending "...my little Crepe Suzette" |

Subject: RE: La Vie En Rose (Parody) From: GUEST Date: 13 Jun 12 - 04:25 PM Are you looking for a tune that was written around 1915 and to the same tune as 'O Sole Mio'? The reason you might struggle to find it is probably because the first English lyric to that is a song called 'My Son, My Son', which Charles W. Harrison popularised and there were lots of other songs that have become more popular since. If you want the French song of the same name, that was written around 1946/7 and was first recorded by Edith Piaf. |
