I see that a lot of folk clubs now have websites. I've often thought of creating one for our folk club but haven't a clue how to go about it. Are there any easy-to-use programs that I could use to set up a website? I'm not entirely computer illiterate but it really would have to be pretty simple to set up. Any advice gratefully received...

My website is at 50megs.com. Check it out at
(www.daveosings.50megs.com)   I got it free, but I'm not sure whether they offer new accounts. Yes, I am sure: If you go to my site, you'll see a link to establishing a free site, right at the top of the page.

The point is, 50megs provides a full set of site-building tools, which I used to build mine, and it wasn't a highly technical job at all.

I meant to say I wasn't sure whether they offered free new accounts. And as I corrected myself, yes, they do.

I will say, however, that for the free accounts they don't provide the ability to either play or download music files. For that, I get around it by posting links to other sites where you can listen to my songs, such as EZFolk and Motagator.

Thanks Uncle DaveO - I've just had a quick look at your link but there seem to be a lot of pop-ups associated with the free webhost you are using. I'll look into it a bit further when I've got more time....

Arnie, are you in the UK? Which club are you referring to? I am currently hosting three club websites (Herga and St Albans Windward & Spotlight)in the free space (plenty) left over from my own website (www.folk4all.net). I have used IBM Homepage Builder - nothing too fancy, but I can host downloads, pics etc. PM me if you are interested.
