This is a bit of a special request and whilst not folk or blues, just wondered if anybody can help.

My parents who are 90 & 89, are going to see Dame Shirley Bassey at the NEC Birmingham England in June. Hmmm maybe she could be classed as folk. Anybody ever sung any of her songs in a folk club before?

I was trying to see if I could get her to say hello to them, either before, during or after the event as a special surprise.

However, I am unable to find any link to anybody that can arrange it.

Mudcatters seem to have their fingers on the pulse and maybe can fix it for me. I would be so grateful.

Thanks
Les Worrall

Les.
Someone I know sent a letter to the BBC asking for a similar meeting and managed to get it arranged through them....just a suggestion.
Best wishes, Mike.

I will give that a try Mike. Cheers.

Anybody else who is a personal friend of hers or does Dame Shirley ever look in here.

When we went with a party to the Wavendon Stables (the Dankworths' place) to see George Melly for my Ma-in-law's 80th birthday I sent a letter to George c/o the venue asking him to give her a dedication which he did. Of course that was a much smaller venue, easy to pick her out!
