Happy Birthday!

Big Bill Haywood chaired the founding convention of the Industrial Workers of the World ("Wobblies")
proceedings in 1905 and subsequently led the initial IWW organizing efforts.

William D. Hayward

was born 2/4/1869

Stand up! Stand up! Ye workers,
Stand up in all your might.
        Unite beneath our banner,
        For liberty and right.
        From victory unto victory
        This army sure will go,
To win the world for labor
        And vanquish every foe.

"Stand Up! Ye Workers," by Ethel Comer
IWW Songbook, 1927; DigTrad filename[ STNDUPWK
